AS SEEN ON

You want to successfully implement small groups in your math block .... the only problem is WHERE do you even start?

Which one is keeping you stuck?

PROBLEM #1

Your day is already jam packed with ALL THE THINGS and guided math just sounds like one more thing on your overwhelming to do list.

PROBLEM #2

You're constantly spinning your wheels trying to figure out how to find time to fit each piece of your curriculum into your day.

PROBLEM #3

You don’t even try to teach guided math because you “know” that you don’t have enough time to fit in all of the components so it feels pointless to even try.

And no matter how hard you try...

you’re struggling

to come up with a schedule that actually works for your math block.

Sound familiar?

Here’s the truth, friend:

If you’re going to create a math block that fully supports all of your students, then you’re going to have to get real about, well…

GUIDED MATH!

It doesn’t matter how many years of experience you have.

Our students need small group instruction

now more than ever. If you don’t know how to set up your math block with a balanced schedule, the learning gaps will continue to be there no matter how hard you try.

The best teachers out there are the ones who are willing to grow and adapt right along with their students.

They know that education is constantly changing. In order to make that change, the first step you need to take is creating a schedule that fits your classroom.

It doesn’t matter if you have 45 minutes or 90 minutes to teach math, it IS possible to teach the guided math framework.

Because at the end of the day, if you don’t know how to fit it all in…your instruction isn’t going to get very far, right?

Math Schedules Guide

Would you like to see how other teachers have successfully implemented guided math in their classrooms? Of course you would! I've put together a handy guide that shows how several different teachers have found time for guided math with

Hey y'all, I'm Marcy!

If you’re new to me...I’m a former 2nd grade math teacher turned educational consultant and curriculum designer. I started my TPT journey back in 2012 as a side hustle. That experience led me to becoming a National Presenter for SDE, appearing at their National iTeach 2nd Conference for six years, joining the Teach Your Heart Out team, and partnering up with ESGI!

Before leaving the classroom to pursue helping educators full time, I spent 9 years perfecting my guided math instruction. The first time I tried math stations, I did it because  my administration told me to. I was sent to a 90 minute workshop at our local service center. From there I really thought I could just go do it. #RealTalk It didn’t work. It was through trial and lots and lots of error that I developed a system that worked for me and my students. I never had any training. I was thrown into it with no training and am 100% self-taught.

Once I finally had a good set of routines and procedures in place, I started to notice a change in even my most reluctant students. They were beginning to LOVE MATH! Through the guided math format, I was able to meet each individual student on their level and give them what they needed most.

How?

Because I’ve spent years nailing down the essential ingredients to building a successful math block. I pride myself in being able to deliver resources and trainings  to teachers to truly make your life easier, and I know I can deliver that to you today!
